I got in touch with Frank who gave me so much good advise. We have our new (refurb) cooktop in our boat, and my husband is thrilled to get his pancakes and eggs for breakfast. When a knob didn't work, Frank sent some replacements out to me within just a few days. I have told all of my boater friends about your customer service and quality product. I wish all companies operated with the level of service and regard for their products and customers. Great job Kenyon and Frank!!!

The SilKEN® induction cooking system represents Kenyon Custom’s entry into induction cooking technology, enhanced with the SilKEN® silicone mats. SilKEN® is a comprehensive green and sustainable, energy efficient, safe and easy to clean specialty cooking appliance. Immediately applicable to the residential, marine, recreational vehicle, hospitality, institutional, military and academic housing markets, that satisfies a commercial product void in an unmet marketplace.
“The purpose of appliance DESIGN’s annual design competition is to honor those designers who have excelled in meeting the modern challenge of harmoniously melding technology and industrial design,” said Maggie McFadden Shein, appliance DESIGN editor.
An independent panel of three industrial design experts performed judging of the entries. Evaluation of the entries was based on four criteria: appearance, human factors, innovation and technical merits. Each year, the Excellence in Design awards attracts a very high-level group of competitors and each submission is carefully examined and judged by our independent panelist of judges.
The judges noted that the companies behind the honored entries demonstrated that they are serious about industrial design and showed that seriousness by attention to details and innovative approaches that sharply differentiated winning products from their competitors. Another common element found among the recognized products was the ability to make technology more accessible to the user.

I really am enjoying my Floridian portable grill. This is the first time that I have ever enjoyed cooking hamburgers!!! We had hamburgers on Wednesday night and awesome chicken on Thursday night. The chicken was so moist compared to when I have cooked chicken breasts on my gas grill. You have done a fabulous job in designing this grill. The clean up is amazing. I was a little skeptical that it would really clean that well, but you were right. I was surprised at how little effort it took. How come gas grill manufacturers can't make clean-up on their grills as easy? I hate cleaning my gas grill and it only gets done at the end of the season. Great job!

Hi, Just wanted to give you an update on the Kenyon Custom SilKEN induction cooktop that you installed in our Vantare coach. First of all, I absolutely love it. As I mentioned before, it always took 45 minutes to boil water with our other cooktop. Now, I have boiling water in about 30 seconds. The new cooktop sears food beautifully. I cooked scallops for the first time in the coach and was able to get them carmelized like they should be. I love how you don't need expensive cookware. I can still use my All Clad pans, but any magnetic pan will do. I also love how it looks in the coach. The glass top is very easy to clean.

Induction Cooktop System Wins DAME Design Award and Special Mention
An international jury of renowned naval architects awarded the patented SilKEN® cooktop, with high temperature silicone mats, the Most Innovative Product from more than 125 entries at this year’s trade show. This induction cooktop and mats can be tilted to 30 degrees and still hold a pan on the unit. Small ridges around the edges of the mat’s underside hold the mats in place on the specially designed cooktop, while ridges around the mat’s upper side help to contain spills. In 2008, Kenyon received special mention at the METS (Marine Equipment Trade Show) 2008 Trade Show in the challenging DAME design award contest. The product is the patent pending PUPS™ cooktop with integrated Pop Up Pot retention system.

The Kenyon PUPS™ were introduced to the METS back on March 30, 2008. The Kenyon PUPS™, solves several issues in the marine galley. A nonstick grate imparts characteristic barbeque grill markings while sealing in the flavor and juices and making clean up a breeze. The cast aluminum grate is protected by a USDA- approved food grade non-stick coating and is easily cleaned with a damp cloth or by being placed in the dishwasher. The lid is also easily cleaned as well; simply remove one hinge pin and place in your dishwasher. The grease tray is a disposable aluminum pan that is conveniently sourced in grocery stores.
One of the secrets that allows for indoor cooking is a concealed electric element that eliminates grease flare-ups while providing a controlled heat source. By way of background, induction cooking is the most energy efficient method of cooking today. It's as much as 50% more efficient than gas cooking appliances. The magnetic energy is directly supplied to the cookware so 85% to 90% of the electrical power applied to the cooktop is used to generate heat. The SilKEN® mats help to insulate and protect the cooking surface, while at the same time reducing the amount of detergents required to clean up for enhanced eco-friendliness.

In a state known traditionally for brass and insurance, and more recently for casinos and highway congestion, there lies in Clinton a small manufacturer who, for the past 80 years, has been cooking up a leadership position in the specialty appliance market. Manufacturing compact ceramic electric cook tops for the residential, hospitality, institutional, academic, military, marine and mobile segments, Kenyon Custom recently received an innovation award for the new patent pending All Seasons™ Grill series.
